Troubleshooting
Common issues and how to fix them.
"I see my own conversations in the dashboard"
Cause: You installed the extension in your Chrome profile, not your child's.
Fix:
- Uninstall the extension from your profile
- Switch to your child's Chrome profile
- Reinstall the extension there
- Link it with the child's code
"Link code not working"
Possible causes:
- The code was entered incorrectly (codes are case-sensitive)
- The code has expired (codes expire after 7 days)
- You're in the wrong Chrome profile
Fix:
- Double-check the code matches exactly what's in your dashboard
- If it's expired, go to your dashboard and click "Regenerate Code"
- Make sure you're in your child's Chrome profile
"Conversations not appearing"
Check these things:
- Is the Sensible icon showing a green dot? (If not, the extension isn't linked)
- Are you on a supported platform? (claude.ai, chatgpt.com, gemini.google.com, or character.ai)
- Wait 1-2 minutes — there's a short sync delay
- Try refreshing your dashboard
Still not working?
- Open Chrome DevTools (F12) and check the console for
[Sensible]messages - Try uninstalling and reinstalling the extension
"Extension disappeared"
Chrome profiles are separate. The extension only appears in the profile where it was installed.
Fix: Switch to your child's Chrome profile to see/manage the extension.
"Extension icon has no indicator"
The extension might not be linked. Click the icon to check its status. If it says "Not connected," enter the link code again.
Dashboard won't load
- Try signing out and back in
- Clear your browser cache
- Try a different browser or incognito mode
- Check if getsensible.app is accessible
