General​

What is Sensible?​

Sensible is a parental monitoring tool that lets you see your child's conversations with AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Character.AI. It captures conversations, analyzes them for safety concerns, and alerts you when something needs your attention.

Is Sensible free?​

Sensible offers a free tier. Paid plans with additional features may be available. Check getsensible.app for current pricing.

Does my child know they're being monitored?​

Yes. The Chrome extension shows a visible indicator when active, and displays a clear message when your child clicks the icon. We strongly recommend having an open conversation with your child about it. See Talking to Your Child.

What age range is Sensible for?​

Sensible is designed for parents of children ages 10-17.

Setup & Installation​

Do I need to install anything on my child's phone?​

No. Sensible only works with the Chrome desktop browser. Mobile apps for AI platforms are not monitored.

Can I monitor multiple children?​

Yes. Add each child in your dashboard and install the extension in each child's separate Chrome profile. See Managing Children.

Can I monitor multiple devices?​

Yes. Install the extension on each device and link it with the same child's code. See Device Management.

What if my child uses a different browser?​

Sensible only works with Google Chrome. Other browsers (Firefox, Safari, Edge) are not supported.

Privacy & Security​

Can Sensible see my browsing history?​

No. Sensible only captures conversations with supported AI platforms. It does not access browsing history, bookmarks, passwords, or any other browser data.

Is my data secure?​

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use row-level security policies and audit logging. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How long do you keep my data?​

Conversations and alerts are automatically deleted after 90 days. Account data is kept until you delete your account. See Data Retention.

Do you sell my data?​

No. We never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy.

Is Sensible COPPA compliant?​

Monitoring & Alerts​

How quickly do conversations appear on my dashboard?​

Usually within 1-2 minutes.

Can my child disable the monitoring?​

They could uninstall the extension from Chrome, but this would be visible to you (the device would stop sending data and show as inactive). They cannot disable monitoring while the extension is installed.

What if Sensible flags something that isn't actually concerning?​

No system is perfect. The AI analysis may occasionally flag normal conversations. Always read the full conversation for context and use your judgment. See How Safety Analysis Works.

What platforms does Sensible monitor?​

Claude (claude.ai), ChatGPT (chatgpt.com), Gemini (gemini.google.com), and Character.AI (character.ai). See Supported Platforms.

Troubleshooting​

Conversations aren't appearing on my dashboard​

Check that: (1) the extension icon shows a green dot, (2) you're on a supported platform, (3) you've waited 1-2 minutes. See Troubleshooting for more.

Codes are case-sensitive and expire after 7 days. Make sure you're entering it in your child's Chrome profile. See Troubleshooting.
